Our Story

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene...

Avery & Katrina's story actually began in the closing days of 2020. Avery and Katrina begrudgingly admit that dating apps are somewhat effective in meeting people. When they connected for the first time online, it was quite clear that something special was developing. From hours texting about university life, love of French language, sharing of pet pictures, community volunteer, and to the times spent on voice/video call. Despite the clear connection established, timing was not ideal at the time. 

Fast forward two months and Avery has an epiphany; he remembered Katrina so vividly despite only a week of conversation, and he knew he'd absolutely regret for the rest of his life if he didn't get one chance to take her on a date. Avery messaged Katrina and went to shoot his shot. Funny enough, it took a minute before Katrina connected the dots, and remembered who he was. Known to her as "French Guy", Katrina and Avery went on their first date together.

Fresh off a mountains snowboarding trip, Avery brought to the date his favourite chocolate bar, a Milkyway Bar, along with a fresh bubble tea in hand. Katrina came sprinting in with her dog, late for the first date. Many of their dates from then on had a similar theme: Katrina walks her dog and they spent time together, often with a bubble tea in hand. If you ask any of their friends, it was quite clear they both really cared about each other and were hopeful for what the future entailed. It didn't take long before Avery and Katrina first moved in together. With the help from Avery's parents (Bill & Cheryl), Katrina was able to successfully navigate her way through university, and into her now career as an elementary teacher!

Together, Avery and Katrina have completed their undergraduate degrees, taken several trips together throughout Canada, attended several concerts due to their shared love of live music (English & French), and became the guardian of Katrina's younger sibling, Azurine. Along with their three cats, Raikou, Staraptor, and Tofino, they are looking forward to what comes next in their adventures together.

They're incredibly excited to celebrate July 25, 2026 with you all! Here's to an exciting start of a new chapter of their lives.
